My name is Catherine Lane Hixson, but everyone calls me "Laney."

I am a seventeen year old junior in high school and very involved in community, athletic, and also academic clubs. In my spare time I am an international equestrian, where I hold several national rankings.

I was recently crowned "Miss Teen Tennessee United States 2011," and will be competing in July of this year for the title of "Miss Teen United States". I am honored to have been selected and consider this an astronomical accomplishment, since only the most dedicated, approachable, well spoken, and motivated leaders of my generation are chosen.

I look forward to participating in the "Miss Teen United States" competition scheduled to be held in Las Vegas, Nevada in July. I will be making many appearances along the way, and am even starting my own organization that will give less fortunate kids a chance to spend time with, learn about, and ride horses!
